Professor Fins brings to us over 60 years of diverse fishing experience and hundreds of hours of unconventional research and educating.
Appearing regularly on Fred Trost’s “Practical Sportsman’s” weekly TV fishing and hunting show as Professor Fins, showcasing fishing techniques, tips, and equipment.
Authoring fishing columns in the Practical Sportsman magazine and two other monthly publications.
Presented numerous fishing seminars at various locations, and as Show Chairman, produced Fishing Shows for the Mid-Michigan chapter of the “Michigan Steelhead and Salmon Fisherman’s Association”.
Developed and taught “Adult Education” Fishing Classes for two school districts, and Youth’s Fishing Classes for Church groups, Boy Scouts, and a lake association.
Guided for Muskie, Steelhead and Salmon, including Fly Fishing for the Majestic Chinook “King” Salmon.
Managed a 130 acre private lake for its Property Owners Association, including water quality, fish management, aquatic weed control, hydrographic map development and fishing contests.
Worked for the Fisheries Division of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, collecting Chinook Salmon heads and tails for laboratory research.
He monitored and filmed Lake Sturgeon spawning activities in the Black River, in cooperation with the Fisheries Division of the Michigan D.N.R., Michigan State University’s Department of Fisheries and Wildlife and the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife Service.
